The Sunday Scoop #2

Hello everyone! Happy Valentines Weekend!

If you noticed I have been a little scarce from the blog lately. To be honest, I do feel very guilty about it. But hear me out! I have started an exercise regime and have been on a health kick for the past month. Not to make excuses but on top of work and chores, going to the gym pretty much everyday is time consuming!

But you know what, it was time for me to get my fitness issues sorted out anyway. I have been lacking energy and just feeling lethargic in general and since I became active again, I can already tell the difference. Mind you there are days when I'm so tired from work that the last thing I want to do is to head to the gym straight from work but a girl has to do what a girl's gotta do. My husband has been very understanding with all this and has been helping me out a lot with house stuff. To make this long story short, this meant that I had less time for everything else, including this blog. I'm so sorry! >_<

So anyway, here I am. I need to plan better and get my post schedule sorted. I promise I will try my best!

There are three things that I just want to point out. Let's call it advice to those who are / who want to start going to the gym.

1. Go straight from work. Or even before work. Chances are if you went home, the idea of leaving the warmth and comfiness again is too much and you won't go. Just do it.

2. Pre-cook all the meals for the week. Life saver and time saver.

3. Have a workout buddy. In my case I got a trainer. Trust me, the idea of disappointing her  by not doing my "assignments" and then trying to explain it to her the next week is too scary. Plus all that money wasted. No, just no. Just have someone who will make you accountable and you will go.

Anywho, my little angels. I am putting up this post as I enjoy a bit of time away from responsibilities! Currently, I am at Niagara Falls celebrating Valentines Day / Family Day.

Hope you are having lots of fun spending time with loved ones!

xoxo

The Sunday Scoop #1

Hi guys!

Welcome to my new series of posts for Sunday. As the first of the lot, I thought it would be appropriate to do a bit of explaining. I made this blog primarily as a creative outlet in my otherwise non-creative world (lol). However, I do sometimes want to share some of the going- on's in my little life and for those of you who are interested in tiny glimpses then thank you and I hope to make this series more enjoyable for you. I do understand that some of you might just be interested in strictly beauty related posts so of course those will remain to be the bulk of the entries here.

My Skincare Favourites of 2013

Here we are in 2014. How has your new year been so far? I have been busy spending time with family and friends, as well as cleaning the house and starting the new year fresh.

But before we forget about 2013, I want to tell you guys about my favourite products from last year. This particular post would be centered on skincare, which we all know by now is what I'm about lol. Another post that would be about make-up would be up in the next few days.

A Happy Holiday Haul - 2013 Edition

Hi everyone! I hope you guys are enjoying the holidays and spending a lot of time with friends and family while eating tons of yummy holiday treats (*looks at self* yup I'm guilty on all counts!)

So I'm here today to talk about the things I bought/was given over the holidays. If you have yet to take advantage of the holiday sales, perhaps this post will give you some ideas.

Hair Care Routine: Winter 2013 Edition

I usually don't have any problems when it comes to my tresses. I have been blessed with a fairly healthy head of hair that I don't do much with. Styling it barely on special occasions... not because I don't want to but because I lack the skill? Lol.

November 2013 Favourites

December is here. That means that its about time for a list of things that I have been loving from last month!

  • First off is the Aesop Calming Shampoo. For many years, I stuck with using a duo that worked very well for me. Until this year. For some reason, I started having a LOT of hair fallout and was clueless as to why this was happening. In any case, the hairstylist I went to at that time suggested that I change my shampoo and conditioner. So I did. Suddenly I no longer had the security of using my magic hair duo (for the curious, it was a Pantene conditioner and Head and Shoulders Shampoo in the Pink variety). It was a very sad time. Lol. But all joking aside I finally found a shampoo that I think I will stick to for a while. This shampoo by Aesop calms my scalp down, especially right now when the dry air is so irritating and makes my scalp go bat crazy. It also gives this amazing shine to the hair. Amazing for sensitive scalp.

A very different post today. Some of you maybe reading my blog and wonder (or not, that's okay too), who is this woman? Well, my friend, today is the day you get to know more about me.
