Happy Eid/Thanksgiving Haul!

Hello everyone! Today I would like to share some new purchases that I made. All of these are bought from various beauty stores in Pacific Mall here in Toronto. Of course, they can also be bought online from different places (sasa, w2beauty, etc) if you don't happen to have access to an asian beauty store nearby.

Let's start with the Tony Moly products:

I got two different masks, they were on sale for C$1 each (yay!). Because I have dry skin, I chose what I thought were very hydrating masks. They are both sheet masks which usually are made of cotton that you leave on for 20 to 30 minutes on your face then remove. Then I also bought an eye pencil in pink. This is a very shimmery baby pink which I thought would look great as a highlight along the lower lash line for that "aegyo" korean look. I haven't tried these goodies yet but I am very excited about them.

On to The Face Shop purchases:

More masks! I got 2 of the Baby Face Hydrogel Hyaluronic acid Mask. This is a gel type mask that actually has the shape of a sheet mask! It is separated into 2 pieces -  an upper face and lower face sheet (made of gel)-  that is placed on the face for 20 to 30 mins. I have used this mask before and it was so soothing and has a cooling effect that feels very relaxing. It also claims to ease puffiness as well as keeping the skin moist and healthy using hyaluronic acid and deep sea water. I really really liked it previously and so I decided to buy more. The only downside is it does cost more at around 6 bucks a piece.

Next is the Bebe Lip Mask which is a first time purchase. I wanted to try a lip mask because as the cold weather approaches (very quickly it seems), I find that my lips are getting very dry. This looked like a fun mask to try and solve my dry lip problems. Very cheap at 2 bucks.

I then saw the Volcanic Clay nose sheets. Here's a closer look:

As you can see its a 2-step process. Step 1 is similar to the usual nose pore strips while step 2 acts as a tightening agent after the pores are cleared up. Sounds like a good system to try right? They do come in tubes as full size but I wanted to give them a go first to see if they would suit my skin.

Then I bought 2 shades of blush, although the second shade I picked up is more of a highlighter even though it comes from the same range. Here they are opened:

These are from the Lovely Me:EX You & Face Blusher range. First shade is called 07 Pink Peach and the second is 02 Golden Glow for 4 grams of product. These can be had for the excellent price of 7 bucks each! I was like oh em gee control yourself mode in the store otherwise I would have taken all of the different colours. I have read a lot of positive reviews about the Lovely Me:EX range so naturally I was very excited to buy these. Can't wait to try them!

Finally the biggest purchase from the store is the Face It Aura Color Control Cream SPF 30 PA++ in the shade 03 Medium Beige. This was actually the main reason I wanted to go to Pacific Mall. Of course I ended buying a million other things but lets ignore that lol!

Let's have a look inside the box shall we?

The compact has a nice heft to it, not too heavy mind you but it does give the impression that it is well crafted and of good quality. I should also point out that these do come in refills meaning you do not need to buy the entire compact again, you just slide the brown part out (the one with the sticker in the middle) and then you can add the refill. This I point out because this was my most expensive purchase of the day at 37 dollars. The refill do cost less (I will have to ask again when I visit the store in the future for the price, sorry!) which would save money in the long run.

As you can see, I haven't opened the compact yet. The sticker placed in the last picture above covers the hole where the actual cc cream comes out by pressing the transparent button. Very hygienic I thought! I will have to try this cc cream out and do a follow-up post later with more details!

Phew okay on to the last few bits. I bought these from 2 of the more "generalized" brand beauty stores that sell skincare and makeup from a whole slew of asian brands (both korean and japanese). Here they are:

Okay so I bought another sheet mask (ummm...addiction???). The Lululun mask pictured above is the "enrich" type. I have tried the moisturize type (pink package) from the same brand and I really liked how my skin felt after use so I went ahead and picked up this other kind. There is a third type that comes in white packaging (brightening) which I might try in the future. Then I bought the Nature Republic Aloe Vera 92% Soothing Gel. This seems to be pretty popular everywhere and so I gave in and had to have one for myself to try. Next is the Kose Cosmeport Softymo White Cleansing Oil. Again another skincare product that has been getting a lot of good reviews on the beauty blogs I've been frequenting. My Emma Hardie cleanser (read my review here) is just about done and so I decided to give this cleansing oil a go. Although I really like the cleansing balm, it is a tad expensive and harder to get a hold of so....this costs C$15 dollars in the store which is 1/3 the price of the emma hardie. Worth a try right?

Finally that smiley face in the middle? It's an accessory to sweep the bangs backward and hold it away from the face. Lol I've seen people use these on many a youtube video so when I saw it in the store I'm like yep grabbing one.

And that is the end of this happy eid haul. I just want to greet everyone a happy eid and hope you also had a very happy canadian thanksgiving!

xoxo
