RMK Makeup Love!

RMK Makeup

Hello lovelies! Its been forever. Today I bring you a quick updated base makeup routine using a japanese makeup brand that I have been loving since May of this year!

I bought these while I was on my trip to Japan. Initially I was nervous to go to a makeup counter, as I don't speak Japanese and felt that I would not be able to communicate my wants/needs.
Good thing my sister-in-law came in to save the day. She very kindly went with me and with her help I was able to purchase the right products. I would like to say though, there was absolutely no reason for my nervousness because the makeup artist from my consultation was so so friendly and super talented. I would definitely go back to that same mall and look for him again.

So let's begin!

First, after my skincare routine, I apply a layer of the RMK Creamy Polished Base N in 02. This is a "cover" primer in that it is tinted and smooths your skin for subsequent foundation or concealer. It comes in a squeeze tube, has a very light feel and does not have a scent. It does offer some coverage which means if you are having a good skin day, this with powder on top should be sufficient. I love this primer. It has changed my mind about primers. In the past, I had the impression that all primers are full of slippery silicone that pill off when you put another layer on top. Not this one! It feels super natural on the skin and more importantly, your face still feels like your face to the touch. My pores are also never get clogged when I use this. I really like this primer. I bought a backup of it after a week of use while I was still in Japan. Do you sense my excitement while talking about this?? Oh my.

Next up! Concealer. During my consultation, the makeup artist showed me how to properly conceal and highlight using RMK Super Basic Concealer Pact in 02. The package comes with 2 tones - a lighter one you can use as a highlight, and a darker shade closer to my skin tone for coverage. Of course you can mix the two shades to get the perfect color you need. It even comes with a handy setting powder. I have to admit, if you have dry skin, make sure to moisturize well before using this especially for under eye areas. If you have a moisturizing eye cream, I would say you are good to go. I like that this concealer is a complete package. The cover also comes with a mirror. So if you are on the go, this would be perfect.

Ugh! My sincere apologies for the blurriness, but this was impossible for me to take! Camera just won't focus.

Finally we come to the foundation. I went home with the RMK Gel Creamy Foundation in 104. My friends, this foundation is super light feeling but offers medium coverage. I would say you can build this up but with the Creamy Polished Base Primer I just haven't had the need to layer it on. Because I have dry skin, the Hyaluronic acid contained within the foundation is perfect for me. If you have read any other posts from this blog, you would know that I am a huge fan of this ingredient.

For my everyday makeup, I tend to use the polished base all over, followed by the concealer pact towards the center of my face (under eyes = mixture of the two tones, lighter = highlight, darker = spots and redness). I then only use the gel foundation on the outer 'U' of my face, blending everything well.

xoxo
