My Skin is Confused: Oily Skin Saviour
Why hello there. If you have read any of my previous posts, then perhaps you have come across my description of my skin being DRY. Now I have an announcement to make. My face has been an oil-slick this week. It has caught me off guard so quickly that I don't even have words. Curse you time-of-the-month!!!
One thing that I learned recently at MAC was that if you are a fan of MAC MSF's (I have MSF Natural in Medium Plus) then they won't help with oiliness as it is geared towards dry-skinned ladies. While shopping at MAC earlier this week, the lady assisting me there was asking me all kinds of questions and giving all kinds of recommendations - all for oily skin. Very nice of her to be helpful, but I can't help but be a little annoyed since I own products that don't work for oily-ness. What is happening?!? Anyway back to the topic.
So just to be contrary, although my face is shiny and oily, it is STILL dry underneath it all. Are you confused yet? Yes, so am I. But anyway, just a quick recommendation for my "glowy" comrades out there. I decided to give my La Roche-Posay Effaclar Mat a test drive today after ordering it a few weeks back from the Escentual sale. Ten hours later (I work longgg hours), I have to say I am impressed. As its name suggests, I have stayed mattified the entire time without feeling dry. So far so good! It also acted as a nice primer for my fave foundation of the moment - Estee Lauder Double Wear Light - mentioned in my post here.
For this week, I have been sticking to my trusty regimen for dealing with breakouts as well. You can read that post here. As a final observation though, I did find that the fish oil /omega 3's are really making a big difference with the severity of breakouts that I got this week. The blemishes that I did get were not as awful as before and mostly small, surface ones, instead of the cystic-underneath-your-skin blemishes that I had last month. Hurray for fish oil!
That's all for today! Keep reading the next posts for more skincare goodies.
