How I deal with the common cold




A bit of a different post today. I woke up this morning not feeling well after spending the night waking up every hour, on the hour while being plagued with strange dreams (in my dream i was also sick lol..)


I just wanted to share how I deal with feeling under the weather and just being plain sick. If you can, take the day off from work or school. Rest is your best friend right now. If like me however, you have to drag yourself to work, make sure you still get a decent breakfast, even if eating is the last thing you want to do. Your body needs the energy so your immune system can try and fight off the intruder (in my case, the cold virus). For colds, there really is no cure. You just have to manage the symptoms by taking medicine.

Speaking of medicine, I take Cold-FX at the first sign of a cold. I then follow up with Buckleys for Day (Cough, Cold, and Flu). Of course, before taking any of these meds, consult your doctor to make sure its right for you.

Other than that, I wear a scarf and sweater at work to keep warm and comfy. I also have different kinds of herbal teas to get me through the day. My tea of choice for sick days is a Tazo green tea called Zen. It has lemon verbena leaves, lemongrass and spearmint that adds a nice refreshing, nose-clearing effect.
