From left to right: Hadalabo Gokujyun Super Hyaluronic Acid Foaming Wash, Toner and Moisturizing Milk |
Another japanese skincare post! This one more affordable than previously posted SK-II range (you can read it here).
Hadalabo is a drugstore brand in Japan known for being affordable, gentle, suitable for sensitive skin and its simple, no-frills approach with ingredients. Don't mistake simple for non-efficient though. I found that this particular range, Gokujyun, is a hardworking moisturizing range that keeps my skin calm and hydrated for the entire day.
I currently have 3 of the products from this line and they are:
- GOKUJYUN Super Hyaluronic Acid Foaming Wash - this is a brilliant budget cleanser I paid (C$15). The pump disperses a very dense foam that feels very soft and fluffy! Although it foams, it is not at all drying, and in fact because it is packed full of hyaluronic acid, I find that after using this my skin feels very comfortable and hydrated. I use this at night mostly, as my 2nd cleanse. The first picture of the product above also shows the nifty locking plastic they added around the neck of the pump. This makes it travel friendly and prevents accidents from occurring when you don't want to dispense any of the foam.
- GOKUJYUN Super Hyaluronic Acid Lotion - this is considered the "toner" for the range. The consistency is very thick but clear liquid. It needs a few moments of "pressing" into the skin to get absorbed. While doing this, I feel the tacky texture of the product but this soon disappears. I think this is the most popular product of this line and rightly so! Its efficacy is top notch and for such an affordable price! I paid C$20 for this but you may find it cheaper on ebay or other online stores.
- GOKUJYUN Super Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Milk - the newest addition to my collection. I bought the first two together at a japanese cosmetic store called "J-town" in Toronto and liked them so much that I decided to pick this one up too during a subsequent visit to the store for the same price as the lotion. This is a very hydrating moisturizer similar in texture to the Kate Sommerville Oil Free Moisturizer but a little bit lighter and more watery. It also needs a few minutes to soak into the skin, and it leaves a dewy finish on the skin. This does not feel greasy but if the dewy look is not for you then I recommend blotting a little bit with tissue. Otherwise, you can follow with bb cream/foundation of choice for a smooth finish.
Do you have a favourite Japanese brand you keep close to your heart? Let me know!
Talk again soon xoxo.
Heey,
ReplyDeleteI live in Toronto too. I'm actually planning to go to j-town to buy some hado labo products. I really wanna try them! Do you know if there are other stores that also sell these products for a cheaper price?
